Sample Collection at the Point of Care (POC)

Collection is the most error-prone step—yet it’s also where the biggest quality improvement can be achieved.

IQ Locator integrates with the nurse interface at the point of care (POC) and digitally guides each action. With an RFID-labeled rack and slot architecture, the system automatically detects which tube is placed in which slot.

Based on test orders, the system ensures correct tube selection and guides the user step by step with LED cues and audible prompts. The workflow will not advance until critical steps are completed.

Pre-Analytical Workflow

Patient ID card is verified versus barcode, and test orders appear automatically on the screen. The system clearly shows which tubes to use and exactly where to place them. Critical steps—such as mixing, waiting, and centrifugation—are monitored by the system. Nurses are guided through both visual and audio guidance. Required steps cannot be skipped. All actions are time-stamped and stored centrally—making the pre-analytical phase measurable, auditable, and consistently repeatable.

Courier Workflow

Sample quality depends not only on correct collection, but also on transport under controlled conditions.

The IQ Locator Courier Module makes transport visible and controllable. Pickup and delivery are performed through the mobile application. With RFID support, racks and transport bags are automatically paired—reducing manual handling and preventing mismatches. GPS enables location tracking, while in-bag temperature sensors take periodic readings. All transport data is stored in the system for full traceability and auditability.

Central Lab Check-In & Registration Reporting

Samples arriving at the central laboratory are checked in quickly and securely with IQ Locator. The system automatically detects rack slots and matches them with previously registered barcode data. This removes the need for re-scanning, speeds up check-in and registration, and flags missing or incorrect samples immediately—alerting the user in real time.
